What to look for in a teacher . . .

Consider these point when exploring the right fit for you or your child. A teacher who has the following traits offers quality music education.

Education
Does the teacher have a degree specifically in voice? How many years of training?

Experience

How many years of teaching voice experience does the teacher have?  Teaching experience is much different than performance experience. Teaching experience brings with it skill to hear where and what the challenge is and the how to “fix” it - something I call "vocal intuition".

Continued Professional Development

Like any profession, music teachers (and especially teachers of singing) should be dedicated to ongoing learning and professional development and a knowledge of voice science

The passion to teach should be accompanied by a passion to learn.
